Motion Graphic Designer

Your Role and Responsibilities

Purple Key Creative Agency is looking for a Motion Designer to add to the Video and Motion Graphic Design Team. Our mission is to leverage research-driven, user-centered practices to impact how Purple Key Services transforms our clients’ businesses. We’re not the team that just makes things pretty. We’re the team that tackles some of Purple Key largest, most complex problems and helps align stakeholders around high-impact solutions.

This position is responsible for the creation of engaging video experiences, telling stories through the design of 2D animation, visual effect graphics and video editing. Candidates must have strong skills in typography, layout, composition and animation skills, along with a strong working knowledge of the latest technologies to produce high-end motion and video content. Candidates must have the ability to develop concepts for delivering messages, design style frames and animate videos under pressure and tight deadlines. Candidates must possess a solid understanding of the technologies used in creating motion design as well as understand and be able to communicate their limitations.

Responsibilities

• Work with design team to conceptualize and create high-end, visually clean and stimulating video content
• Design and animate high quality motion projects
• Simple video editing
• Basic color correction
• Multi-layer compositing
• Make basic audio edits for loops, fades, etc.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• Knowledge of After Effects and Premiere Pro, and other relevant Adobe Creative Suite apps
• Understanding of the principles of animation and the properties of moving objects
• Good sense of timing and screen composition
• An eye for design
• Ability to multi-task, organize, prioritize and work independently or under close direction
• A creative mind and exceptional storytelling skills
• Ready to learn new tools, plugins and software as needed
• Demonstrate sophisticated aesthetic, technical skill, and knowledge of current design trends, as well as the desire to innovate
• Experience with color correction, special effects and music selection a plus
• Knowledge of the principles, techniques, technology and standards of video production and shot composition a big plus
• Some experience in 3D modeling, texturing, and animation

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

• Two+ years’ experience in a motion design role
• Advanced editing and animation skills
• Ability to work independently and also take initiative
• Able to manage multiple projects at once
• Ability to prioritize tasks and requests
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
